About the Business
Roofing works carried out include slating, tiling and lead work that are the traditional skills in the roofing trade. But core business in last few years has been the fitting of the latest in flat roofing membrane generically known as single ply.
Three layer felting and torch on felts are inherently dangerous with the hot bitumen temperature in excess of 240 degrees Celsius. The risk of fire and accidental injury ever present. After a relatively short period of time moss and algae take root in the chippings reducing any solar reflective properties and becoming unsightly.
Single Ply, with a life expectancy in excess of 30 years has none of these drawbacks and if damage to the membrane occurs ( window cleaners ladder maybe or falling masonry ) the damage can be seen easily and repaired in minutes saving expensive repairs from water damage.
